Biological Weapons Convention

Rebecca Katz

Professor Katz has been working on issues related to the Biological and Toxin Weapons Convention for over 15 years, primarily supporting the U.S. delegation as a public health expert consultant.

Most recently, Dr. Katz was invited as a Friend of the Meeting to present the on governance for a response to deliberate biological events at the MX4 plenary session in Geneva in August 2019.  The Georgetown Center for Global Health Science and Security also hosted a side event to present research on tracking funds in global health security, an inventory of outbreak response activities, and an effort to consolidate civil society contributions to the treaty.
