Master of Science in Foreign Service (MSFS) — STIA Concentration

Launched in partnership with Georgetown’s Master of Science in Foreign Service (MSFS) program, the STIA concentration allows students to specialize in the role of science and technology in global affairs.

Students select one of three subfields:

Energy and the Global Environment (EGE)

Examines international challenges related to climate change, sustainable energy transitions, natural resources, food systems, water security, and environmental governance.

Innovation and Emerging Technologies (IET)

Explores transformative technologies such as biotechnology and artificial intelligence, with a focus on innovation systems, markets, and public policy.

Science, Technology and International Strategy (STIS)

Focuses on the role of science and technology in national strategy, including cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, arms control, nonproliferation, and space policy.
