Simone Stapley is the Communication and Outreach Coordinator for Georgetown University’s offices of Science, Technology, and International Affairs (STIA) and the Institute for Soft Matter Synthesis and Metrology (ISMSM). She promotes faculty research, coordinates outreach efforts, manages digital content, and engages in public relations to connect with targeted audiences. With extensive experience in content strategy and stakeholder engagement, Simone collaborates closely with program directors, university advancement, and the Office of Technology Commercialization to foster donor relationships, strengthen communications campaigns, and develop advisory board support. Her background includes managing communications for academic and nonprofit sectors, where she has led initiatives involving media content creation and engagement. Prior to Georgetown, Simone worked on the communications team for Citizens for Responsible Energy Solutions (CRES), promoting clean energy and climate change initiatives in Congress. Holding a Master’s in Communication from the University of Washington and a Nonprofit Management Certificate, she combines a strategic understanding of digital and public relations with hands-on expertise in fostering academic partnerships and engaging a broad public audience.
